The Turning Point
Have you ever had that moment of realization, when you know things can’t continue the way they are? You could just motivate yourself and keep going, but you know this is not the path you want to be in anyway. That’s the point where we found ourselves as a family in 2022.
After approximately 25 years working for a bank, Michael felt ready to take on a different challenge. His life had gone through a perspective shift during these years, and he was now yearning for more time with our two small children.
On the other hand, after years of raising our children at home, I was thirsting to recover my own professional life. As a Spaniard living in Germany, this proved to be an uphill battle that kept making me feel deflated and lost.
So one day we threw the craziest thought in the air: What about moving to Mallorca?
Crazy, turned into possible, and then into reality. Step by step, we evaluated every aspect of our very comfortable and steady lives and decided on what we could let go and what we should keep. Many sacrifices were made. But on the other side of the tunnel, we find ourselves living in a place that brings joy to our hearts, that has healed our very tired souls. The weather, the sights, the colors of the sea and the rock, your senses are in paradise here. Not to mention the welcoming spirit of the locals. It has brought us memories of our wedding in Hawaii. Less rush to go through life, and more enjoyment in the little things.
When we reach a point of realization that our current path isn't fulfilling or aligned with our true desires, it's essential to have the courage to break away from the familiar and pursue a change. By taking a leap of faith, evaluating priorities, and making sacrifices, we can discover new opportunities that bring genuine joy, healing, and fulfillment to our lives, as it happened to our own family. Embracing change can lead us to unexpected places where we find happiness, harmony, and a renewed appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
